Update KB5018503 – Windows 11 v22H2 build 22621,741, 22622.741 and 22623,741

Microsoft has made available a new optional update for Windows 11 v22H2 for download.

KB5018503 increases the version numbers to 22621,741, 22622.741 (manually) and 22623,741.

The latter is internally called “Moment 2” and will be released next year.

The update is currently distributed in the beta channel through Windows Update.

Those on the beta channel will be upgraded to Windows 11 build 22623 via Activation Pack KB5018863. The changes are broken down again.

We are investigating reports that sound has stopped working for some Insiders in recent Beta Channel builds.
Taskbar optimized for tablets
The taskbar sometimes flickers when switching between desktop and tablet locations.
The taskbar takes longer than expected to switch to the touch-optimized version when switching between desktop and tablet.
When you use the gesture at the bottom right to show the quick settings, the taskbar sometimes gets stuck in the expanded state instead of the collapsed state.

Tablet-optimized taskbar NOTE: These fixes appear only if the tablet-optimized taskbar is enabled on your device. The tablet-optimized taskbar is still rolling out to Windows Insiders and isn’t available to everyone yet.
We fixed an issue that resulted in the taskbar sometimes crashing when the taskbar was expanded when there were no windows running on the desktop.
We fixed an issue where using left or right edge gestures resulted in widgets or notification centers overlapping or cutting off from the taskbar.
Fixed an issue that caused the tablet-optimized taskbar to crash explorer.exe when invoking the add-on.
Systray (Notification Area) NOTE: These fixes appear only if the Tablet Friendly Taskbar with Taskbar Update is enabled on your device. The tablet-optimized taskbar and system tray are still rolling out to Windows Insiders and aren’t available to everyone yet.
Fixed an issue where quick settings items could be rearranged again by touch.

We fixed an issue affecting Server Manager. It can reset the wrong disk if multiple disks have the same UniqueId.
We’ve made localization fixes to some of the setup files. These issues may prevent you from creating installation media for languages other than English.
